Filmana celebrates its first anniversary with applications and unique content

Filmana, the first Christian streaming platform in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, celebrates its first anniversary. In just one year, it has gained the trust of over 13,000 viewers who registered since its launch on December 1, 2023. To celebrate, Filmana is releasing a new full-feature version of its platform along with modern applications.

Modernization and expanded access

The new version of the platform includes mobile applications and apps for smart TVs. Apps for Apple and Android mobile devices, as well as for Android TV, are already available. Applications for LG and Samsung are also in the works.

“We want to offer viewers the most convenient access to valuable content. That’s why we have dedicated a lot of energy and resources to developing applications. We believe our new platform will be loved by our audience,” says Jan Perout, co-founder of Filmana.

Exclusive content for everyone

Filmana boasts a rich selection of films and series with spiritual themes, which is constantly expanding. A significant milestone is the collaboration with the renowned Angel Studios, known for the globally successful series *The Chosen*, and whose productions can be found on Filmana, featuring films premiering in our countries. These include titles such as “After Death” (Za smrtí) – a gripping documentary about near-death experiences, “His Only Son” (Jediný syn) – a well-known story of Abraham and Isaac in an unconventional interpretation, and the original sci-fi thriller “The Shift” (Posun) – inspired by the biblical story of Job.

“These films not only provide entertainment but also offer an opportunity to personally meet Christ and recognize His influence in each viewer's specific life story,” adds Daniel Kompas, who is responsible for content acquisitions.

Films like “Samson” about the biblical strongman or “Cathedral” about a man who, without education and funds, spent sixty years building a monumental cathedral are also very popular.

The platform is also continually expanding its collection of documentary films offering various perspectives on the history of Christianity, testimonies of faith, missions, and much more.

Filmana's first original series

For December, Filmana has also prepared the premiere of its first original documentary series Pilgrims of Faith. This series follows the inspirational stories of people whose faith transformed the world around them, often without it being immediately apparent.

“The first episode is dedicated to Father Ivan Fišar, whose ministry is an example of dedication and faith in practice. We look forward to showing through this series that there are no small roles, and often even the least visible spiritual figures can hold great depth and testimony of Christ's love within them.,” says Karel Studený, who is responsible for the platform's content.

The premiere will take place at a cinema in Zlín, and shortly afterward, the film will also be available to all subscribers.

Plans for the future

Filmana continues its intensive search for additional exciting content and is preparing new original films and series. “Our mission is to bring quality film content into the lives and living rooms of everyone seeking inspiration and strength in their faith,” concludes Jan Perout.
