Easter Films
I: The Week That Changed the World
Easter is not just a beautiful symbol of faith – it is an event that truly changed the course of history. The documentary The Week That Changed the World takes us step by step through the events of Holy Week and helps us understand more deeply what happened then and why. Renowned professor of ancient history Dr. Paul L. Maier guides us through the key moments of Jesus' final journey: from the entry into Jerusalem to His resurrection.
II: Two Thieves - Now FREE
The film Two Thieves presents an unusual and powerful perspective on the crucifixion of Jesus – this time through the eyes of those who are mentioned only marginally in the Bible: the two criminals crucified alongside Him. It is a story of grace and redemption, told from a perspective that has not yet been captured on the big screen. The film was directed by Dallas Jenkins, known primarily as the creator of The Chosen. Interestingly, the role of Jesus is played here by Jonathan Roumie, whom audiences also know from The Chosen. This film can be said to have paved the way for the creation of the series and contains elements that Jenkins later fully developed – an emphasis on personal story, human doubts, and encounters with Christ in places where few would expect it. Two Thieves thus opens a deep theme of repentance and God's grace, which can reach even the greatest sinners – even in the last moments of life.
III: The Third Day
On the third day after the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth, eyewitnesses discovered a empty tomb and encountered the living, resurrected Christ. What if it's not just faith, but a historical fact? This compelling documentary seriously and deeply delves into the evidence surrounding the most pivotal event in Christian history – the resurrection of Christ. Using biblical texts, historical sources, and interviews with leading experts, it seeks to answer the question that changed the world: Did it really happen?
IV: The Road to Emmaus
The well-known biblical story of two disciples who walk to Emmaus after Christ's crucifixion and meet an unknown traveler. What all took place on this journey? And how did the meeting, which forever changed their lives, unfold? This film adaptation sensitively approaches one of the most poignant moments of the gospel and invites the viewer to think more deeply about how we, too, can meet Christ – often unrecognized, but bringing the truth that ignites our hearts.

V: The King of Kings
Even after nearly one hundred years, The King of Kings remains one of the most famous biblical films. With beautiful visual compositions, impressive crowd scenes, and revolutionary camera work, the film still feels modern and powerful. Its message of forgiveness, hope, and love for one's neighbor remains universal. If you're looking for a Christian film with deep spiritual significance that transports you to the time of Christ and captivates with its visual beauty, The King of Kings is the perfect cinematic experience.
VI: The Only Son
The approaching Easter is a time when believers around the world remember God's sacrifice and His love for humanity. The film The Only Son (His Only Son) from Angel Studios (The Chosen, The Shift, After Death) presents a cinematic retelling of one of the most well-known biblical stories – the story of Abraham and his son Isaac, which is read annually in churches during the Easter vigil (Genesis 22:1-18).
VII: Come and Follow Me
Have you ever thought about how the situations described in the Gospels were experienced by the Apostle Peter? The film Come and Follow Me dramatizes the relationship between Jesus and the Apostle Peter. This short film beautifully illustrates Peter's transformation from the day Peter heard Jesus call his name to the conversation after the resurrection, in which Jesus commissions Peter to " feed my sheep".
VIII: To All Corners of the Earth
“What must I do to be saved?” This urgent question was asked by the Philippian jailer nearly two thousand years ago and has lost none of its relevance. The film takes us to the city of Philippi, where the Apostle Paul brings the gospel to people of various statuses and backgrounds during his missionary journey. Through Paul’s conversations, encounters, and miraculous events, we see how God’s grace transcends cultural and social boundaries. The message of salvation in Jesus Christ is meant for all – even to the uttermost parts of the earth.
